Chow mien

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp of finely chopped garlic
  • ¼ cup of spring onions
  • ¼ cup of shredded carrots
  • 2 green chillies finely diced or jalapenos
  • 3 tbsp of light soy sauce
  • 2-3 tsp of white vinegar
  • ¼ cup of cabbage
  • ¼ cup of chicken stock
  • ¼ cup boiled chicken into cubes
  • 1 tsp of chinese salt/flavour enhancer
  • ¼ tsp of white pepper
  • ¼ tsp of salt or even less
  • A pinch of red chilli pepper if desired
  • 250 grams of noodles
  • 3 tbsp of oil for frying

Method

Step 1

In a pot put 5 cups of water and put it on a high flame till it starts to boil add ½ tsp of salt and put noodles/spaghetti in it, till andante, sieve it and wash pasta with cold water, put it on one side

Step 2

In a wok heat oil put garlic, green chillies, cabbage, carrots, spring onions and capsicum, stir it around, then add boiled cubes of chicken, add the rest of spices stir for a couple of minutes on a high flame. Add spaghetti and stir it also for the vegetables to mix thoroughly with the spaghetti. Add chicken stock, cook it for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Alterations

You can add any other fresh vegetable (peas/beans/sweet corn) available.One tbsp of ketchup can be used to add flavor to chow mien .
