Ingredients
- 1 medium sized beef fillet 8 inches long
- 3 tbsp of light soy sauce
- 1 tsp of chinese salt/ flavour enhancer
- A pinch of meat tenderizer
- 1 tsp of vinegar
- 4 green chillies into strips
- 1 capsicum/bell pepper into strips
- Ginger julienne 3 tsp
- ½ tsp of black peppercorn crushed
- 4 salad onions finely diced
- ¼ cup of oil
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
Wash the meat, break the fibres of meat by hammering with a wooden or metal hammer. It can be messy so better to wrap the meat in plastic or cling film. To make meat thickness a little less place it on a flat surface and hammer it.
Step 2
Take it out from the plastic bag and slice it into thin strips, add soy sauce, vinegar, meat tenderizer and leave it for 2-3 hours. The meat at this time can become salty so it’s better to add salt after tasting.
Step 3
Heat a pan or wok on medium flame, put oil and then add meat stir it around till the meat seals and the meat starts to crisp up. Add the vegetables and stir fry them in the end add crushed black pepper and serve it with fried rice or plain rice.
Variation
If you want to make sauce add in ½ cup of water. For thickening take 2 tsp of dissolved arrowroot with 2 tsp of water and cook for 2-3 minutes. You can also add vegetables too.
