Use of spices in my recipes

Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian; wine and tarragon make it French. Sour cream makes it Russian; lemon and cinnamon make it Greek. Soy sauce makes it Chinese; garlic makes it good.

In Asian Cookery a variety of spices and herbs are used in cooking, you will see them being used in the recipes as you go through my website. One of the main reasons for me to write a few lines about herbs and spices is that we should be aware of what we are eating and a brief introduction about them will give you a slight idea of their effectiveness. The Herbs and spices are a gift of Mother Nature; they have been incorporated in Asian food, Chinese, Greeks and Romans since ancient times. Not only these plant derivatives make our food taste better but also soothe and calm our bodies, help us to remain healthy on the inside by eating them, by smelling (essential oils) derived as well as applying on our body. Still in many countries including Germany many trials are being conducted to understand the mystery and mechanisms which can help in treating human kind. Asians were so curious and fond of spices that they studied the spices in detail and still Hikmat (Homeopathic) and Ayurvedic medicine is practised in Asia.
