Chick peas curry

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of boiled chick peas
  • ¼ tsp of coriander seeds
  • ¼ tsp black cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp of crushed chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp of onion paste
  • 3 tbsp of oil
  • 1 tomato with the skin peeled and finely diced
  • ¼ tsp of mango pickle

 Garnish:

 Coriander leaves,green chillies, pinch of gram masala powder/all spices.

Method

Step 1

Just simply heat a pan without oil and roast the coriander seeds and black cumin seeds for a few seconds, take them out crush them and put them to one side. In the same pan heat oil now add onion paste fry it, add the crushed dry ingredients.

Step 2

(Crushed coriander seeds, black cumin seeds which you just roasted, turmeric powder, chilli flakes, salt) and then add tomatoes. Stir them on medium flame till the oil separates. A splash of water will help prevent from the curry to burn. Now add boiled and cooked white chick peas. Add ½ cup of water and let it simmer for 10 minutes Adding pickle is optional.

Step 3

In the end garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves, green chillies and garam masala/all spices Serve it puri (deep fried bread) and halva (sweet dish)
