Sweet and sour Chutney

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of tamarind concentrate
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • Saunth/dried ginger as per required
  • ½ tsp of red chilli
  • 1 tsp of mint leaves
  • 1 cup of cane sugar/brown sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp of chaat masala
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1 tsp of ajwain /thyme seeds crushed

Method

Step 1

In a pot cook tamarind concentrate and sugar, when the mixture thickens add the remaining dry ingredients and cook for 5 minutes. Now cool it and store it in a container and use it as a dip for samosa (parcels of vegetable wrapped in filo pastry).
