Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough:-
  • Instant bread yeast 1 sachet or 1 tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • White strong flour 600 grams
  • 1 egg
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Milk powder 1 tbsp
  • Tomato sauce for pizza:-
  • Tin tomato 1/2 cup
  • Fresh basil 2-3 leaves finely chopped
  • Oregano a quarter tsp
  • A pinch of salt
  • Sugar around one eighth tsp
  • Topping:-
  • Chopped tomatoes without seeds 1/2 cup
  • Few leaves of baby spinach is optional
  • Mushrooms sliced 1/2 cup
  • Olives green or black pitted 1/4 cup
  • Salami 5 slices roughly chopped
  • onion chopped 1/4 cup
  • Bell pepper 1/4 cup
  • Grated mozzarella cheese 1 cup
  • Grated mild cheddar 1/2 cup
  • Butter 3 tbsp melted

Method

Step 1

For the Dough:- Mix flour, sugar,yeast,salt, milk powder all with tepid/slightly warm water and knead to form a soft dough .Cover it up with a cloth or cling film.Place it in a dry warm place for 3 - 4 hours.The yeast will ferment and dough will rise and become twice its original size.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to maximum temperature for around 20 minutes. Divide the dough into two portions.

Step 3

Dust the work surface with dry white flour. Now roll out the dough with a rolling pin equal to the size of your pizza pan .Place the pizza base in the hot oven. After 5 minutes when the dough is slightly cooked take it out from the oven.

Step 4

In the mean time make the tomato sauce by combining the ingredients for the tomato sauce and heating them gently for 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza base and then place the vegetables .Lastly sprinkle grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.Let it bake till the cheese is melted and the dough is cooked.It takes around 20 minutes in a very hot oven.

Step 6

For a golden brown crust. brush the rim of the pizza with the melted butter and place the pizza back in the oven for a couple of more minutes. Serve hot with chilli flakes and freshly grounded black pepper.

Note

All the vegetables for topping used should be fresh.
