Kulcha ( puri/deep fried bread )

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of strong wheat flour
  • 4 tbsp of yogurt
  • 2 tsp of vegetable ghee
  • One egg beaten
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of dried yeast
  • 1 tsp of sugar

Method

Step 1

In a quarter cup of warm water mix in yeast and sugar, let it ferment. In a bowl sieve the flour, add in salt, egg, yeast mixture and knead the dough.

Step 2

After kneading cover it with a damp cloth and place it in a warm place for rising. After an hour the dough will have risen in twice the size. Make small dough balls. Roll them out and deep fry them in hot ghee just like any puri.Serve kulcha with zafarani chicken.
